About Mike Veitch
Mike Veitch is a Canadian professional photographer who has lived in the Indo-Pacific region for many years and now calls Indonesia home. He is constantly on the move throughout Indonesia diving the entire archipelago throughout the year and exploring little dived locations. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia in 1995 Mike got the wondering bug and traveled throughout SE Asia and Australia for much of 96-97 before returning to Vancouver and becoming a PADI Instructor in the cold waters of the B.C. coast. Mike started working full time in the Indo-Pacific in 1999 onboard the Palau Aggressor in much better temperatures! After working with the Aggressor Fleet for over 5 years in Palau and French Polynesia, Mike moved to Yap to manage the Photo and Video Centre at the Manta Ray Bay Hotel for 2.5 years before finally settling in Indonesia in 2007. He co-managed NAD Lembeh Resort for 2 years with Simon Buxton and then worked as a Cruise Director and Operations Manager of the Dive Damai Liveaboard Fleet until 2012. He now owns and operates the Underwater Tribe brand of dive travel and School of Underwater Photography based in Bali, Indonesia along with partner and co-founder Luca Vaime.
